Chippewa County/Montevideo is adding support services to be delivered by a rural recovery assistant (RRA). The RRA is conducting outreach at the two jail locations used by Chippewa County and within the community to offer and arrange expedited substance use disorder (SUD) assessments and mental health assessments. The RRA connects individuals to other community-based services/resources, such as housing assistance, certified peer support, and sobriety meetings, and assist with applications for insurance or treatment funding, if needed. The RRA supports individuals through the treatment experience, helps develop reentry plans, and provides sober support upon return to the community.
